Barack Obama is racing ahead of John McCain in the polls lately, so we thought it fair enough to ask this important question for everyone to consider – does Barack really know what he’s talking about? That is, does Obama really get it on all of the issues?  Is he truly qualified to run the United States of America as our supreme chief executive?

I know, I know.  This is a Sarah Palin blog, so why should we write about Senator Obama here on our website?  Well, aside from the obvious fact that Obama is the counterpart of Sarah Palin’s partner John McCain, Barack Obama is rising in importance these days and really does deserve closer scrutiny if we expect to elect a leader who can really help bring about change.

Now, our bias should be obvious enough already.  Team Palin and McCain really have us impressed and the have our full support.  So we won’t delve too deeply into the obvious chitter-chatter about McCain v. Obama.

Let’s just explore Barack Obama the man and the politician for a moment.

Just who is Barack Obama?  We know that – like many other politicians in his position – Obama was educated at some of the best schools in the USA.  He also attended Harvard Law School – an institution well known for turning out some of the best and the brightest in the nation (or the world).

What did Barack Obama do after college?  Unlike many of his classmates who went on to start major careers with law firms and other political lead-ins, Obama went to Chicago to become a community organizer.  Obama’s beginnings as an organizer have been the subject of much debate, and it’s not exactly clear how this contributed to his current status as a politician.  Needless to say, and as Governor Palin has pointed out, Palin was managing an entire Alaskan city while Obama was toiling in the streets of Chicago.

One point that Obama has been very unclear about is exactly how he will manage the burgeoning US deficit, which continues to climb during these very uncertain economic times.  It still stands to be seen just how long it will take Obama to get things rolling in his approach to managing the country’s affairs.
