The daughter of Sarah Palin is Bristol Palin who has received a lot of media attention since the announcement of John McCain’s vice presidential appointment.  Why is Bristol Palin the subject of so many media reports and headlines? 

Many pundits and reporters are putting a lot of attention on Bristol’s pregnancy.  A 17 year-old pregnant in the White House?  It’s not surprising that Bristol Palin has managed to steal the spotlight throughout this campaign.

Bristol Palin’s sudden rise to fame has also put her boyfriend (and her baby’s father) at the center of attention.  Levi Johnston has become very well known especially for his MySpace.com profile page which goes into detail on his interests in snowboards and dirt bikes. 

With Bristol pregnant, Sarah Palin the grandmother will become a reality very soon.  At just age 44, Palin will have a lot on her hands as the future Vice President with five children – Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, and Trig – a grandchild, and an entire country to run at John McCain’s side.  Can she handle it?  Well, so far so good for the current Governor of Alaska.  She has a lot of political experience and is definitely capable of managing a household while keeping her political affairs in order.

How many months is Bristol?  The Palin daughter is currently five months pregnant and counting.  As the election unfolds and November approaches, attention surrounding the pregnancy of Bristol Palin could begin to die down as the actual political issues between Republicans and Democrats become more important and the initial shock of the Vice Presidential announcement fades away.

John McCain reportedly knew about Bristol’s pregnant status even before he chose Sarah Palin as his running mate.  Unfortunately, one of the major consequences of major elections like the 2008 Presidential Election contest between McCain and Obama is regular mud-slinging and personal attacks or ad hominem attacks.  This election is no exception to the rule.
