I am honored to say that I and my family will be contributing to the Sarah Palin Defense fund. Governor Palin has been the victim of so many ethics charges it is almost like a conspiracy. These charges none of which seem to hold any water could easily put Sarah Palin into the poor house.

When a public servant has so many political enemies because of his or her popularity, the rats come out of the woodwork and do their best to make trouble for that person. I think that is what is happening with Sarah Palin. I totally believe that old guard politicians would like to destroy Sarah Palin and I think that is just awful.

Sarah Palin showed that she could make it on the national stage even though the media delivered her a cart full of lemons. I think it is awful when a woman is disparaged for being someone who lives life by her own terms. All she wanted to do was serve the people and what does she get? A whole of people trying to drag her down and yet she perseveres. Unfortunately, she has had to fight all these frivolous charges legally and that costs big bucks. Public servants, even Governors don’t make a lot of money and with her growing family Sarah Palin like the rest of us have to watch where her money goes.

I hope a lot of other people realize the sacrifices Palin has made in order to serve the people of Alaska. Most of us wouldn’t be able to take all the public scrutiny and dirty dealing that goes along with her job. I think we all owe it to Governor Palin to help in her defense of her integrity and ability to do a great job. She is out there gunning for us and we should do the same for her.

I have friends who say that donating money is just wasted and that is exactly that attitude that is the downfall of politics in this nation. We can do something to help Governor Palin and we should. Thankfully, with the Governor in the news this past week the fund has gathered some momentum. My paltry contribution may not mean much but I feel good knowing it is going to such a good cause. We all should follow the Governor’s pattern of serving our state, country and families.
