Sarah Palin Hunting

October 5th, 2008 · No Comments

One of the most controversial subjects surrounding Alaska Governor/Vice Presidential candidate is Sarah Palin hunting. For many, hunting and fishing is simply a way of life in the rugged world of Alaska, where Sarah Palin grew up. As a child, the Heath children accompanied their dad on hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping trips. Her dad, Chuck Heath is proud that he taught his children how to enjoy the outdoors and make the most of what nature provides you. This is the way of life in Alaska.

Hunting has been a way of life since the beginning of written history. Man has always hunted for food. Why, then, does Sarah Palin hunting raise such a stir in the political world? Many of the critics claim that hunting shows a barbaric and bloodthirsty nature, but seldom has a person hunting been the object of a political election. While there are many issues that could be discussed, hunting seems to have taken a front seat for many people.

Photos of Sarah Palin hunting show her and one of her daughters beside a caribou that she killed. Her dad claims that she shot one caribou from 300 yards out, making her a good shot in his eyes. While hunting was a way of survival in long-ago days – well, actually, not that long ago, as hunting was a way of survival during the settlement of the United States, many people feel that hunting has now become a bloodthirsty sport. However, the majority of people that hunt actually do eat the meat of the animals they kill. Just as the Native Indians of our country used every part of an animal when they killed it, many hunters today do the same. People use the skins to make hats, coats, rugs and they use the meat to feed their families.

Sarah Palin hunting is not such an uncommon thing in Alaska. And, women hunters are becoming more common all over the US. In this rugged and beautiful land, hunting and fishing still play a vital role in the survival of the people in the state – both in terms of providing for their families and as an industry. As an industry, fishing provides many jobs for the people of Alaska. And, as more and more women find themselves in power in the once male-driven corporate world, many often find themselves participating in other things that were once male-dominated, such as hunting and fishing.
