Sarah Palin won Miss Alaska? Actually, that report is completely false. To set the record straight, this Republican VP hopeful did contend for the Miss Alaska competition in 1984 shortly after she won the Miss Wasilla Pageant in her very hometown. Yes, Sarah’s beauty is quite remarkable – especially for a politician – but “Miss Alaska” is one title she has never actually held.
Some have criticized Palin for her beauty contest past, but this seems to be pretty irrelevant to the issues at hand in the current presidential election. What if John McCain had won some sort of similar contest for men? I know the idea sounds pretty ridiculous, but it’s a valid point and should help calm the fires of some of Palin’s most bitter critics.
Sarah Palin the beauty queen really is a thing of the past and rightly so! After all, this lady is now at a stage in her life when politics, career development, and other such pursuits are front and center for her. She definitely proved that as Governor of Alaska and Mayor of Wasilla where she was originally crowned as the local beauty pageant winner.
Is it so wrong that a political hopeful is also quite attractive? What about John F. Kennedy? As we all know, contradictory reports during JFK’s campaign against Richard Nixon in the 1960s placed Kennedy as the winner of the televised debate and Nixon as the winner of the radio-broadcast debate. Obviously, appearance does matter in the public eye.
It may be superficial to focus on a candidate’s physical appearance, and that is exactly my point. Why are we spending so much time talking about how pretty Sarah Palin looks in those designer glasses?

I must agree, Sarah Palin is not only nice to look at, but would be a great asset to this country.
