It’s funny what the media will do with a story to raise questions and issues in the minds of the American people. The story about Sarah Palin’s clothes is an example of the extraordinary lengths the press will go to in order to challenge the intelligence of the people of this country. Of course there was 150,000 dollars spent on Sarah Palin’s clothing during the campaign. Why would that shock anybody? As a woman of her stature, and a woman to appear on television and news reports on a daily basis, this figure is extremely low. Are people across the country merely jealous?
Let’s take a look at American Idol. What do you think that the clothes budget is for the performers that appear there? Has this been addressed as an issue? No. Why? The reason is that it is not an issue that is up for debate or scrutiny. And neither is the Sarah Palin clothes debacle. She came to the election as a total newcomer to high-profile politics. You would not expect that she would have the clothing needed to represent the government of the United States of America. As a representative of this fine country she should be clothed well, in fact she should be clothed in the best way possible.
Sarah Palin had the chance to become the next vice president of the United States. That meant that if anything had happened to the president she would be the next president of the country. This role is a worldly role. The president and vice president of the United States are a reflection of everything that country stands for. How would you want them dressed? And why would anybody question dressing them well other than to cause a scandal, where there is no scandal? Sarah Palin deserved every piece of clothing she wore during the campaign.
The clothing is to be given to a charitable organization now that the election is over. It will be going to good use and not wasted. Sarah Palin looked great during her campaign, and hopefully we’ll see her looking at great again for the 2012 election and even better when she becomes the president of the United States. Hopefully at that point we will have something better to look at than money that was spent for a good purpose. Maybe in 2012 times will have changed enough to understand that money put towards a good purpose should not be made into a scandal, and that any highly ranked politician should be expected to look their best at all times. That will involve money.

I hope no one minds me commenting on an American Politician but I really thought Sarah was treated unfairly over this clothing allowance.
As you rightly said above she has to look good.
A man can turn up in the same suit and tie and no one eve notices but if she were to wear the same earings or broach, let alone the same dress or shoes she would have been slaughtered with pictures lined up and the items circled. The press knew that and they went ahead and made a big deal out of nothing. And what was the Obama total spend. just a tiny bit more than $150.000?

I’ve donated to the RNC numerous times….and they had better used that money for Palin’s wardrobe. I wouldn’t be happy if she walked around dressed like a liberal. Thank God she was walking around dressed to perfection looking classy.
