Barack Obama chose Joe Biden as his running mate for the 2008 Presidential Election, but it’s not entirely clear if that choice was a wise one or not. In comparison to our gal Sarah Palin, of course, Joe Biden is not the most exciting running mate nor has he garnered anywhere close to the amount of attention as Sarah Palin.

So, the question remains – should Obama have picked Hilary Clinton as his running mate instead of Joe Biden?

Some of the folks over at Saturday Night Live have had a field day with this idea.  If you spotted the SNL skit with Hilary and Bill Clinton at the Halloween costume party, then you got a glimpse of this hilarious comedy.  When Barack Obama walks in with an Obama mask on only to take it off, Hilary looks uber shocked!

Of course, the tension between Hilary and Barack has been very high since Mr. Obama pulled out ahead of her in the runnings during the Democratic primaries.  Still, many have suggested that Hilary would make a much better running mate and might even the score between Obama and McCain – at least in terms of running mates.

But, look – Sarah Palin is just so much more interesting and compelling than Hilary Clinton – even on a bad day!  The poise, charm, and confidence of a Sarah Palin.

Hilary Clinton may have a lot of book smarts and an impressive academic and political pedigree – plus, her connection to THE Bill isn’t exactly innocent.  It’s clear to most that Hilary Clinton is part of the establishment, which is NOT what people want to see in this elections.

People are looking for change and something new – something exciting!  The more the economy continues to fall apart, the more people are going to expect this type of change.  And the more the election goes on with the sky falling in the background, the more people are going to insist that there simply is no other way.  Hilary Clinton is a political relic in this environment, and it just does NOT look like a good place for her and her old hat politics.

But, let’s give credit where credit is due here.  We should remember that the Clinton administration was responsible for one of the largest economic expansions in United States history.  That is definitely saying something.  But, as many political commentators have pointed out, what happened during the 1990s may very well be part of the problem we are facing now.  The work done back them may have led to the sickness of our economy today.

So – back to our original question here – would Hilary be better than Biden?  My answer is a definite NO.  Then again, Joe Biden is not much better either.  And, yes, I am biased.  After all, nobody tops Sarah Palin as a running mate!
